Harper is 10 years old and she's been taking violin lessons with us for 4 years. Her teacher is Ms. Sophia and they recently just started piano lessons, as well! Her favorite band is The All-American Rejects because of their catchy anthems and rhythms and she specifically wants to learn their song "Dirty Little Secret" soon.

Harper's private lessons have helped her to confidently play violin solos in orchestra. In fact, one of her biggest wins this past year was when her orchestra was invited to play at the LAUSD Arts Festival in the Grand Park in downtown LA! This was their second time playing at the festival and Harper says it's the best music event that happens for her all year. 

 

Ms. Sophia also supports and pushes Harper to reach for the stars. Harper says she is able to get better every week because of Ms. Sophia's help. Because of lessons, Harper has learned that if she tries hard enough, she can improve in anything. She's certainly got strong perseverance! ​

Her advice for newer students is that even though it can be hard and frustrating at first, stick with it and the payoff is huge. Even if things seem hard, they get easier with time.
